Podium (2016) was created to challenge the material at hand. Creating an “art school staple”, this canvas and thread podium does not function in the way it is intended to. This piece, with applied pressure, collapses into itself, like a person without a skeleton, thus dismissing all function from the podium. The collapsed podium then becomes a feature itself, its structure still mildly intact, but changed.
